  1. Light Travel Time from Earth: 13.7 Billion Years

    by , 05-02-2012 at 03:58 PM (Raymond's Blog)
If there’s anything tangible that teaches us about our significance, it’s the universe. We all know it’s huge, expansive and a largely unknown ‘something’ in which we happen to exist, to many of us only known as lots of black night time darkness that’s filled with billions of stars.

It’s easy to forget that our little but precious home, which we call Earth, actually swims as a microscopic, minute clump of dirt in an ocean that’s incomprehensively large. Here’s 7 billion of us, living ...

ID:	141A while ago I consulted to an organization as part of a team that saw itself challenged by a number of seemingly irresolvable issues. Five weeks ago I started yet another ...
  4. What Sets Good Consultants Apart From Not-So-Good Ones

    by , 11-15-2010 at 09:44 PM (Raymond's Blog)
Just to share with you a few things that resulted from an online teleconference with some of my ex-colleagues – a conversation that erupted spontaneously on what distinguishes better from not-so-good management consultants. The following summary is a bit rough around the edges but it conveys our thinking adequately.

Management consultants, we think, are called upon to play many roles in the management of an organization or team. One of the most important roles every consultant must ...
  5. Thinking The Impossible - in XXXL...

    by , 04-13-2010 at 09:58 PM (Raymond's Blog)
Each time I watch this clip I think of the impossibility of possibility. Or the other way around. If I were a betting man and had to predict the outcome of this experiment I would have gone for failure.

Alas, these guys pulled it off – excuse the pun. See the clip here:

Where did this clip start? In the minds of a couple of petrol heads who had a few bucks to spare on damaging a few plates ...
